Share the Harvest offers food, fun and support for the Food Bank
Community groups are joining together to offer the second annual Share the Harvest at the St. Margaret’s Bay Community Enterprise Centre (CEC) on Saturday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event gathers local abundance to share with the whole community, with proceeds to the St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank.
At 1:30 p.m., following the Share the Harvest market event, is a puppet circus show called Troubling Joy, suitable for all ages. The 45-minute show is on the side lawn of the Community Enterprise Centre (CEC) at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 15-minute Q&A. Entrance is by donation (nobody will be turned away). Bring a chair, bring a friend, bring the kids, maybe bring a canned item for the food bank, and enjoy this wonderful show.
Members of the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts are invited to exhibit art featuring food, drink and harvest themes. This art exhibit will remain on display until the end of September.

Information for Artists:
To register, contact Beth at [email protected] before September 6th.
Drop off of art is from 4:00 to 6:00 on Thursday September 9th at the SMB Community Enterprise Centre. All art must be ready to hang, preferably with wire rather than a hook. If you cannot make that date, please arrange for someone else to bring your art.
Art for this show should reflect the Share the Harvest theme, which would primarily be food and drink, but items used in the kitchen or dining room could also be included. We must restrict your submission to one piece per person, except for jewelry, which may be up to 5 pieces.
You may bring up to 10 art cards for display and sale. For this month, we would like them to have food, beverage, floral and home images. Each of your cards should have the same price.
You may bring a small number of business cards for display.
Registration and signed waivers are due to Beth by Monday September 6th. If you would like your piece to be part of our online promotions, please include a photo of your submission with your registration.
30% of all sales will go to the St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank. 70% goes to the artist, after the display is over.
Art Pick-up is from 4:00 to 6:00 on Thursday September 30th at the SMB CEC.
