Calling young artists!
Do you have a budding young artist at your house—or are you a grandparent, teacher, art instructor, or neighbour of a young artist?
Consider helping them join the Peggy’s Cove Area Art Society as a Youth Member.
Students from Primary to Grade 12 are eligible to join. This membership is open to young people who like to make art and would enjoy sharing it. Youth members at any stage of development in their art are eligible to participate in occasional group shows by youth members (see Previous YAS events, below). They will also receive our monthly newsletter.
Students 15 years of age or younger must have permission of a parent or guardian to join.
Previous YAS events:
October 2024 – Our first YAS! (Youth Art Show, a month-long exhibit by young artists at the Tantallon Branch of Halifax Public Libraries and the J.D. Shatford Memorial Library in Hubbards.
April 2025 – Another month-long art show, held at the St. Margaret’s Bay Community Enterprise Centre. This show included an official opening for artists, their families, and supporters.
July 2026 – A month-long show at the Tantallon Branch of Halifax Public Libraries, presented as part of our annual Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts, with visitors to that show eligible to have their Studio Tour Passports stamped on Studio Tour weekend.
