Debbie Smith – Artist
Debbie loves altering the colour, shapes, and features of natural forms to create bold, bright and stylized landscapes. She also loves painting flowers, capturing the personality of a bloom through subtle blending and attention to the play between light and shadows.
After retiring from a 30-year career in education, Debbie moved back to Nova Scotia where she discovered a new passion – painting. Now a full-time artist working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Debbie’s work has lots of bold colour, drama, and energy. The results are dynamic and captivating. As Director of the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts, and member of the Crossroad Artists, Lunenburg Art Gallery Society, and the Aspotogan Arts & Crafts, Debbie is a well-known artist in the St. Margaret’s Bay area. Her studio is open to visitors year-round. Commissions are welcome.
